Harder Kulm
Within just 8 minutes you can rise 755m in altitude to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Interlaken and the surrounding villages. The cable railway runs past the Alpenwildpark nature reserve, high above Interlaken, and to the Harder Kulm. The Harderbahn funicular has been running since May 15, 1908. Even then, care was taken to prevent marring the local mountainside with a straight aisle through the forest: the crescent shaped railway line therefore virtually describes a quarter circle – a shape seldom seen in funiculars.
