Basel – a journey through time
The city’s 2,000 year history has left its mark on the architecture in particular. Basel is a city of contrasts, where one can admire buildings dating from the 15th century alongside modern constructions by internationally renowned architects. The Old Town is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe, with its distinctive town hall made of red sandstone and decorative paintwork. The suburb of St.Alban-Tal enchants with its romantic lanes and little waterways. Basel truly has many attractions to offer, almost too many for just one short visit.
