Racing Roland
‘Racing Roland’ or the ‘Luett Bahn’ railway is a museum on wheels (750mm gauge rail) and is one of the very last narrow gauge railways in Germany. This puffing, wheezing, whistling, rattling island train links the Baltic resorts of Göhren, Baabe, Sellin and Binz with the former royal seat of Putbus. An excursion by train can be ideally combined with a boat trip from the harbor of Lauterbach or a cycling trip around the Mönchgut peninsula. Train and rail enthusiasts will be fascinated by the lovingly restored turn-of-the-century wagons, as well as the opportunity to qualify as ‘honorary locomotive drivers’.
