The lush green valleys of the island offer a splendid picture, particularly in spring, when the almond trees are in full bloom. It is well-worth setting out on foot, on a bicycle or even by car to enjoy the beauty of the landscape. The olive and almond groves of Puigpunyent, and the picturesque village of Deiá also make for wonderful outings. Or visit Valdemosa and follow in the footsteps of Chopin and the enigmatic George Sand, who spent the winter here in 1838.
