Basel for sports fans
One of the hosting cities during the European Cup in 2008, Basel has the largest football stadium in Switzerland and as such is a popular destination for sports fans. However, quite apart from these major events, Basel offers sporting highlights throughout the year. For example, the annual Davidoff Swiss Indoor Tennis Tournament – one of the most important of its kind in the world – is hosted in the St. Jakob’s Hall in Basel each year. Also, the Badminton Swiss Open, a world class tournament for badminton fans.
