The Seaside Resort of Binz
The town of Binz is first mentioned in official documentation as early as 1318. It is the largest seaside resort on Rügen and is located at one of the most enchanting bays on the island, the Prorer Wiek. Flanked by the broad woodland areas of the narrow heath and the Granitz, in the west the town is nestled beside the reed-ringed shores of Lake Schmacht, whilst in the east it faces the ocean. Binz offers a mild climate with 1,872 hours of sunshine per year. The protected location, wide, sandy beach, stone-free ocean bed and gentle surf make Binz one of the island’s most popular bathing paradises. And right here, where the island is at its loveliest, we find the Dorint Strandhotel Binz - Rügen.
